Jim Duff Music Blog

Growing up in Kentucky, Jim Duff counted the legends of traditional Country music as his heroes. Artists like Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Townes Van Zandt made a huge impact on the young songwriter and helped shape his sound. However, music was not his only talent and life took him in another direction for a while.

I Shot the Sheriff

Hello world! February is going to be a big month for me. I have an MRI and a PET scan scheduled for this month. I'm ready for thy will to be done. I place my faith in the almighty.
I want to share another cover tune with you. This one is an old Bob Marley song called, "I Shot the Sheriff." I went Soul Train on this little number. This song was recorded in my home studio in Cincinnati in 2013. I gotta say that it was a blast to make this record. I had so much fun playing the B-3 organ on this tune. And the drum beat is just fat nasty! ðŸ˜‚😂
I hope that everybody has a great weekend. Play this song at a party this weekend. I guarantee you folks will get up and dance. Love to all.
