If it were not for Darin Singleton, I probably would have never heard of John Prine. Yet, because of Darin introducing me to Prine's records, as far back as my high school days, John Prine had a huge chunk of my personal playlist. Personally, I consider him a lyrical genius in his own right.
So one day, as I was picking around on my guitar, I made up this little picking ditty that sounded like the tune "Souvenirs."
It's not exactly how John had picked it, but, then again, I generally like to put my own twist on the tunes I cover of other artist. The lyrics hit pretty close to home...and I just love songs that can take me back there. Hope you enjoy.
